Something You're Listening To
B.B. King "Watch Yourself", then Gaslight Anthem "Boxer" and now Flogging Molly "Exiled Years". Pretty damn good way to close out February.

Money
I don't know how you save money, but I do it by reusing my old beer bottles. Why buy new ones to fill with home brew when there are plenty of good ones on hand. Sure it may be a pain in the ass, but the beer is worth it. And a special thanks to Chris and Olivia for saving their bottles for me too. I will pay you in more beer.

Something You Ate
Sinatra always said to get two olives in your martini. One for your lady, and one for you. My lady had the first one, and a couple extra of her own. It's cool, she's worth it.

Night
Good book. What are also a good books are the ones around Night. Not too mention the few bachelor mags without names on the bindings next to slaughterhouse five. They have, well let's just say good drink recipes.

Where you Work
Well I will be working on this future photo prop in my studio. Which is where I do my work. On the awesome old desk I got from Jack, under the Notre Dame neon sign, super gluing my fingers together. Not too mention playing a little Buddy Guy and drinking a Guinness. Cause I don't know how you work but that's how I do it.

Fave Photo of You..
Or I guess my favorite photo of me. Well gee golly, there are just so many to choose from. So here is the one from the best day of my life, from the best decision I ever made, which I'm sure Jenn may second guess quite regularly, but definitely one of my most favorite of me. And of her. Not to mention that sweet ass '65 Bus in the background. Yeah it still has "potential". Even if it has been in the shop for a little while... The Bus, not us.

Handwriting
No it is not pronounced meager's. It is Maher's. And no, there is no Y in that either. It is pronounced Ma-Her. Ma, like your mama, and her like well the pronoun. Yes that is my signature. I'm glad we had this talk.
something you hate to do...
Well that would be sit at a computer and work on photos. Sorry but it's just not fun. Now working in the darkroom that's fun. So if the thing to shoot yesterday was something you hate to do, that would be sitting write here working on that image. So no, no I did not take a pic for that one yesterday. Just didn't feel like it. I think it would be better to not do it because I don't like to do it. So it is a photo a day in February, except for yesterday. Thank you that is all. Please pull up to the window.

Drink
Well not drinking these beauties for another two weeks. But when I do these dark brown brews will be delicious. Lucky Lion Tuesday Bear Amber, or just Am-Bear for short.
Time
You know what takes time? Making beer. About four weeks from start to drink time. And it's a long four weeks... For the record, yes it is legal. Well in most states. Some still live in the past, but that is no surprise.

Something New
Our patio balcony is getting a new drainage system. Finally. And with any luck it will be done soon, because let me tell you Emma and Molly want their backyard back.

Phone
Red Phone - Circa January 2003, Calypso Cafe, Tropicana Las Vegas, NV.
Andy: "Excuse me, Miss? I'm sorry but my friend here is not allowed to have metal silverware. His "doctors" are affraid he may try to hurt himself or someone else. Do you have anything of the plastic type?" (Andy looks toward Manuel.)
Waitress: "..................."
Andy: "So no then?"
Waitress: "Um.........."
And cue the rest of us at the table bursting out into gigantic laughter. At that point the waitress starts to laugh and gave us great service. Probably because we were so damn funny. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that we were the only table in the joint at 3 am. Ah Vegas.....

Heart
"Rebels Of The Sacred Heart"
Now I`m aimin' for heaven
But probably wind up down in hell
Where upon this alter I will hang my guilt ridden head
But it`s time I`ll take before I begin
Three sheets to the wind, Three sheets to the wind
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
I said no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Terrified of the open road
Yeah, where it leads ya never know
But rest assured he`ll be on you back
Yeah, the Holy Ghost through his tounges in black
As th band dog howls and the young girl cries
The blessed virgin in her proud dad`s eye
The albatross hangin' round your neck
Is the cross you bare for your sins he bleeds
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Genuflect all you refugees who fled the land
Now on guilt you kneel
And say a prayer for those left behind
From beyond the pale to the Northern sky
So you saved your shillins and your last six pence
Cause in God`s name they built a barbed wire fence
Be glad you sailed for a better day
But don`t forget there`ll be hell to pay
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
I said no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Reserrection no protection all things life must be
Ah no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Now bless me father for I have sinned
But it`s the same old story again and again and again
Ah well, such is the bread of an everyday life
From mornin' to noon to this shadowless-night
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
I said no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart

Self Portrait
In this digital age we have many selves. We all create identities to exist either online or in video games. These characters then of course become extensions of ourselves. So one could even do a whole project of self portraiture through their created selves. Oh wait, I have. And this is just Skate 3...
I would also like to thank a few friends that make an appearance with me, Sloth, Sue, and DeadEye.

Sun
The current assignment for my beginning photo students is light as subject matter. This would be a more than acceptable solution. Another one would be:
And I also liked the way our compass looked in the morning light.
Plus couldn't resist Belly hanging out with the Devil.
And with the word of the day being Sun, how could I not include my favorite image I made for the old San Bernardino Sun building.

Button
Shutter button that is. My "new" sweet ass Argus. There is just something about using a camera that was made when my parents were kids. It has become an analog historical item, but it still works. It also can still be used to record modern history. Now not to bring up the whole digital vs. film debate but try using an NC2000.... Yeah right, exactly. These older cameras are like classic cars to me. Both still work and both look way more cool than those of today.

My View Today
This is Jack's Office, well as far as I am concerned it still is. Though more often I am referring to it as my office, even if it is shared with others and a scanning station. This wall used to have all kinds of cool images that Jack and his students created. I like the marks on the wall left from the images that are now gone. Seeing as how no one else has thought to hang anything up it appears as though they agree. Good.
Another view of this office I saw today was of course Jack's classic red blinds.
And what I stole from Jack and tell my students...
My view today? Running in and out of what was once Jack's office, but is where I now get to try and make student's heads explode with excitement over awesome imagery. Well at least for another quarter. And I'm sure he is having a beer for me right now doing what all good retired folk do.

New Year, New Car...
Well it's kind of a new car. Last year I got a Camaro and a Challenger. This year a Charger and a GTO. The Goat has yet to be photographed due to it needing a new environment to be photographed in. You could say it's not as laid back as the Charger. Probably because the Charger is used to barreling though country back roads with the Duke Boys. Not this one, this one is mine, but I do love a good dirt road. Song of Dixie is not necessarily necessary. Yee-Haw! Okay, back to business...

2011 Video Games Top 5 (Xbox 360)

I'll be honest, I didn't really have too much playing time in 2011. These are the ones though that I really wanted to play because they stood out to me amongst the rest of the year's releases. These games were, and are a lot of fun. The kind of game you can play multiple times.
1. Batman: Arkham City. The fact that it feels as if you are actually inside a Batman comic is reason enough alone for this sequel to be number one. Add in all the bat-gadgets, riddles, massive environment and the progressive deterioration of the Batsuit and this game had me addicted. Plus Catwoman wasn’t all that hard on the eyes.
2. Assassins Creed Revelations. Continued shanking of Templars. Nuff said.
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Another great first person shooter in a franchise line. What I really enjoyed is the online component and added games. Killing waves of bad guys with your friends in Survivor Mode is endless fun. Well till you die that is.
4. L.A. Noire. Another large environment from Rockstar, and plenty of cool cars to “borrow”. Interesting use of story telling and character development. Plus tons of classic film lighting references create drama like the old days before these fancy consoles where even dreamed of.
5. Driver San Francisco. Look mom I’m Steve McQueen! Yeah it’s like that.
Dog's Life

There's just something about the idea of going back to work that makes me envious of my dogs. Granted my dogs have it better than the one in this song, but you get the idea.
"My cases sit right in front of me
waiting for someone to take me away.
Alone again, my pills are kicking in...
See I'm a dog and I'm locked in my cage.
Eyes are red, tongue is hanging out,
I'm thirsty as shit.. and I'm still a dog,
fleas don't itch I had a bath the other day
before this trip wonder where we're going.
My toys are packed and
I see my bed is in,
And my two bowls are somewhere in reach.
Scratch with rage
until I find a way to get through this
It's cold down here...
A bumpy ride and my seat's not first class,
man's best friend I feel befriended this is a
dogs life
ok were here, things are ok again
brand new lawn just to welcome me here
scratch my ears and I'll chase down your ball
looks like this new place will be home
for now. Won't take long,.. to go to sleep
after going through all this.
Wake up tomorrow and we'll
do it again...
This is a dog's life." - Pulley
